John Strege, Paul Rogner and Craig Rutz met as Freshman at Concordia College (Chicago) in 1969. Life led them to create a rock band they called Synod, which first performed on campus on April 29, 1971. A year later they recorded their first album at the college studio, completing it on August 05, 1972. The nine songs in this collection are an eclectic mix of styles and influences, finishing with "Expand Our Minds, Lord", which was inspired by the original Woodstock Festival. On the strength of this beginning, they continued for four decades.
