For the 23rd release, Withheld returns to FRi with the 'Connections' EP, a four-track EP that captures the late-night sounds of deep house while infusing enough energy to elevate DJ sets.
What characterizes Withheld's tracks, including 'An Unarmed Eye,' is their colorful arrangements featuring various sections subtly varying in energy.
On 'Anschluesse,' Withheld, a British producer based in Berlin, brilliantly showcases his UK sound influences by seamlessly blending deep house with rave elements.
'Strandspaziergang' begins with a growling saw-cutting bassline that gradually mellows out as cosmic pads and synths kick in. Wrapping up the EP, 'Apartment 62' enhances the romantic vibe with dreamy chords perfect for late-night seduction.
