A sample-heavy goodie bound to have you starting your day off in the best shape and spirits, ’Sometimes I Be’ breaks the EP in on that very light-hearted, boogie-oriented note that’s made Wegner’s reputation over the years. Bouncy and fresh, a purely delectable slice of Rhodes-riddled, brass-streaked disco house that promises to have dancers hooked from the first chords onward. Shifting gears onto a deeper-minded headspace, ‘Habla Tabla’ slowly hatches into a louder, more rugged slice of audio collagism, grinding elements of 60s soul alongside subs-charged body music tropes and near-stealth fluttering synth tapestries on a more introspective tip.

Then there’s the hooking filtered-house charm of ‘Candy Feeling’, a rough-edged chunk of sugar-coated honey for your ears, beautifully commixing the strings-laden emotionality and raw funky riffs of an early disco chugger with the flanged loopy motions and infectious dustiness of a Roulé classic. Title-track ‘Right Kill’ brings the journey to a close with undeniable swagger and attitude, laying further emphasis on the vocals as it displays a further loungey facet of Wegner’s musical grammar, where pads and altered piano stabs unfold like endless silken draperies, incredibly smooth and comfy for your ears to wrap around.
